About the Human Resources Team

The Human Resource Team is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the Company's retail stores, distribution center, and business office in the areas of: employee relations, training, recruitment, payroll, compensation, and benefits administration, leaves of absence, workers' compensation, safety, liability, and loss prevention.

 

About the HR Liability Administrative Assistant Position:

We are looking for an organized and hardworking Human Resources / Liability Administrative Assistant to join Bi-Mart. This position is responsible for administering the company’s liability claims relating to company facilities, personnel, products, and vehicles. Additional responsibilities include, communicating with customer claimants, legal counsel and insurers, as needed. 

Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to: 

  • Maintain liability claim files. Gather required forms, statements, security videos, receipts, and products. Investigate and document incident information to facilitate informed claims decisions by management.
  • Communicate with claimants in a professional, calm manner.
  • Work with the merchandising department, the maintenance department, Bi-Mart vendors, and outside vendors to determine cost-effective solutions for claimants and consider subrogation options.
  • Process third party invoices related to claims.
  • Process monthly report reflecting status of open claims, including costs and reserves.
  • Process assigned job duties and tasks quickly, accurately, and efficiently, often under pressure and/or with tight deadlines.
  • Timely file documents as required with high degree of accuracy.
  • Support HR coworkers with assistance as needed
  • Cover the duties of the corporate Receptionist as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

The ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing

An excellent record for attendance and performance

The ability to set priorities and organize workload

The ability to solve problems efficiently and offer solutions to customers

The ability to respond sensitively to patient/customer needs and/or situations

A proven ability to provide excellent customer service

 

Experience:

Prior office experience is preferred

Prior experience in Liability or in human resources is an asset!

Schedule:

The Bi-Mart Corporate Office is open 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday.

Hours will vary depending on workload and assignment.
